PhD Open Days

On November 29th, 2023, the PhD Open Days 2023 brought together emerging researchers, students, and experts for a day dedicated to scientific exchange and innovation.

The event provided a dynamic space for in-depth discussions on the latest advancements in sustainable technologies and catalysis.

Among the standout presentations was PhD student Arij Hassine’s research titled "Hydroconversion of Advanced Non-Conventional Feedstocks: Impact of Co-Processing." The study sparked engaging dialogue on sustainable energy pathways and the potential of co-processing technologies in developing greener fuel alternatives. Also featured was a poster by PhD student Cristian Navas, "Palmitic Acid (PA) Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) by Using Bifunctional Catalysts for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) Production." His work highlighted innovative catalytic approaches aimed at advancing the production of SAFs, an essential step toward decarbonizing the aviation sector.

The event fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants, reaffirming the vital role of doctoral research in shaping the future of energy and environmental sustainability.
