Our team at ECCE–ECAB–CIBIQ 2025 ✈️

ECCE| September, 2025

From 8–10 September 2025, our team took part in the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE), the 8th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology (ECAB), and the 3rd Iberoamerican Congress on Chemical Engineering (CIBIQ), held in Lisbon, Portugal. Two students presented their research:

🔹 “Towards Sustainable Aviation Fuels: Role of the Acidity in the Palmitic Acid Hydrodeoxygenation over Ni-based Bifunctional Zeolite Catalysts”
Presented by [PhD Student’s Cristian Castillo Navas] – highlighting the role of catalytic materials in the development of greener aviation fuels and their contribution to decarbonising transport.

🔹 “Predicting Properties of Non-Conventional SAF Feedstocks Using ATR-FTIR and Multivariate Analysis”
Presented by Rita Santos (Master Student) – showcasing the application of spectroscopic and chemometric tools to predict the properties of alternative SAF feedstocks, enabling faster and more efficient screening.

This participation was a valuable opportunity to share our results with the international scientific community and to contribute to the global discussion on innovative strategies for sustainable mobility.
